A Year of Growth and Impact: Restore TFC's 2024 Highlights

As we enter 2025, it's important to reflect on the year gone by—a year filled with growth, challenges, and significant achievements at Restore TFC. Our dedicated team, supportive community, and the resilient children and families we serve have all played a pivotal role in our success. Here's a look back at some of the milestones we achieved together in 2024.

Key Accomplishments

  • Monthly Parent TrainingsWe introduced monthly training with subject matter experts to empower our foster parents with knowledge and practical advice, enhancing their ability to provide nurturing care to our children.

  • Moms Support Group: Recognizing the unique challenges foster mothers face, we established a support group facilitated by a peer coach who is also a seasoned foster parent. This initiative has fostered a strong sense of community and support among the mothers in our program.

  • Successful Reunifications: 2024 was a landmark year with our first successful reunification of a foster child with their biological family, reinforcing our commitment to family preservation and the joy of rekindled connections.

  • New Foster Parents Licensed: In 2024, we successfully licensed new families, expanding our community and increasing our capacity to provide safe and loving homes for our children. This growth allows us to extend our reach and impact, ensuring more children can thrive in supportive family environments.

  • Children Placed: Last year, we successfully placed children in supportive and caring homes, ensuring stability and continuity in their lives. Each placement marks a significant step forward in our mission to provide nurturing environments for children in need.

  • Office Expansion: To accommodate our growing operations, we moved to a larger office space, enhancing our ability to serve our community more effectively.

  • Expanding Our Reach: In 2024, Restore TFC significantly expanded the number of localities we serve by securing contracts with King and Queen, Spotsylvania, and Shenandoah counties. These new partnerships complement our ongoing service areas in Richmond, Henrico, Hanover, and Petersburg, broadening our geographical footprint across Central Virginia.

  • Staff Milestones: 2024 was a remarkable year for our team at Restore TFC, marked by significant personal and professional milestones. Jade, our dedicated and fearless caseworker, celebrated her first anniversary with us.Additionally, we welcomed our first group of summer interns, who were an incredible asset over the busy summer months. Their hard work and dedication greatly supported our families and staff.

  • Spiritual Milestones: A deeply inspiring highlight of 2024 was the decision by one of our children to get baptized and commit to growing in their faith. This significant spiritual milestone reflects the supportive and nurturing environment we strive to provide, where children not only find safety and love but also the opportunity to explore and deepen their personal beliefs and values.

A Note of Gratitude

As we celebrate these achievements, we extend our deepest gratitude to every member of the Restore TFC family—our staff, foster parents, volunteers, and community partners. Your unwavering support and commitment have been instrumental in every success we've celebrated this past year.

Looking Forward

With 2024 behind us, we are excited to continue our mission into 2025. Our goals for the coming year include expanding our training programs, increasing the number of successful reunifications, enhancing our operational capabilities, and deepening our community engagements. We are committed to improving the lives of children in foster care and supporting the families that open their hearts to them. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to helping us make a difference. Together, we look forward to making 2025 another year of growth, impact, and heartfelt service.
